Over my scientific carrier I had the opportunity to work in four laboratories in different scientific fields but with a common theme for me, the study of phagocytes cell biology. During my phD within the UMR 5018 in Toulouse from 2000 to 2004, in the team of Louis Casteilla, I developed an original approach based on transcriptomics for comparing cell lineages complemented by functional studies both in vitro and in vivo and highlighted some intricate relations between macrophages and adipose tissues. In 2004, I joined the team of Alan Ezekowitz and Lynda Stuart (MGH / Harvard, Boston, USA), where I was involved in a system biology analysis of phagocytosis in Drosophila hemocytes by combining proteomics, functional genomics and bioinformatics. I then focused on studying the role of phagocytosis in pathogen recognition and processing during phagocytosis. In 2008, I joined the team of Isabelle Maridonneau-Parini at IPBS (UMR 5089, Toulouse, France) where I developed interdisciplinary approaches at the interface of fundamental cell biology and physics to endeavour pioneer studies of actin cytoskeleton dynamics in human macrophages. In 2011, I joined the MIMM team as an assistant professor. My research activities are still interdisciplinary and focus mainly on bacteria-phagocytes interactions. I am interested in the evolution of host-pathogen interactions with a particular interest in cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in the interactions between bacteria of the genus Vibrio and phagocytes from free-living marine amoebae to marine invertebrates immune cells, the hemocytes. These projects are carried out at various levels (molecule, cell, organism, populations) in close collaboration with the members of the MIMM team and the IHPE unit, and with various collaborators form the Labex Cemeb community in Montpellier as well as from France, Europe and USA.
