DOMAINE D’EXPERTISE-RECHERCHE :
Depuis mon recrutement au CNRS en 1995 mes travaux de recherche sont consacrés aux mécanismes de défense et aux interactions hôtes-pathogènes chez les invertébrés et se sont articulées autour de deux axes de recherche. Premièrement, l’étude des mécanismes de défense de l’huître du Pacifique Crassostrea gigas. Le développement d’approches de génomique fonctionnelle nous ont permis de caractériser nombres d’éléments impliqués dans les l’immunité de C. gigas. Deuxièmement, l’étude des perturbations des mécanismes de défense d’un insecte ravageur de culture, Spodoptera frugiperda, lors d’interactions avec divers pathogènes. Ces travaux ont consistés aussi bien à l’étude des facteurs de virulence produits par les pathogènes qu’à l’analyse de leur impact sur l’immunité de l’hôte.
Le projet de recherche que je développe actuellement a pour objectif de caractériser l’hémo-microbiote (cohorte de microorganismes associés à l’hémolymphe) de C. gigas et d’étudier sa dynamique et son impact sur la fitness de l’huitre. Pour cela, trois niveaux d’investigation sont développés i) déterminer la biodiversité et la plasticité de l’hémo-microbiote, ii) déterminer l’origine de l’hémo-microbiote et la cinétique de sa mise en place au cours de l’ontogénèse et iii) déterminer qu’elles sont les relations de l’hémo-microbiote avec le système immunitaire de l’hôte.
